You know that was held last Friday?. Unfortunately it has become the forgotten day of the Liberalism, the day that alfarista revolution took the reins of Ecuador
But internationally, and so overlooked, was held on World Environment Day. The reality is that each passing day, we left with fewer resources. And this largely because of our own depredations. Just look at some videos to realize that the irresponsible use of resources is not sustainable in the long run. And this is the only planet we leave to our children and other generations to come.
There are certain steps we can take all without a single large economic cost, but overall, they could delay somewhat the loss of our natural habitat.
The Environment Program of the United Nations gives us some very practical advice such as:
- Find needy households or charitable organizations to donate items you no longer use or do not want instead of throwing them away.
- Using an electric razor or a manual with spare blades instead of disposable is a great help to reduce waste. And plant a tree.
- Use the towels to dry your face and hands instead of tissues to be used and then thrown them away. Also, hang up and dry your towels for re-use them several times.Anyway You are clean when you used them.
- The lovers of the juice or yogurt can do your part by buying the concentrated juice and yogurt in re-usable containers instead of single packages.
- Many of us like to browse the newspaper when we take breakfast, but consider the reading of these spaces in the office or coffee shops. However, if you prefer to have your own copy, be sure to recycle! (Read the news from a computer, or buy a kindle).
- If you are in the majority of drivers who spend their mornings in traffic jams consider turning off the engine if you are going to be parked for long. And plant a tree.
- You have the routine of the hot drink in the morning? Using a mug (mug) is a washable alternative environmentally favorable alternative to the cup or non-biodegradable plastic cups.
- If there is a recycling system in the office, start one yourself! Recycling our waste actually helps to reduce emissions of global warming. And an estimated 75% of what was actually thrown into the trash is recycled, although currently only 25% is recycled.
- If you are looking for something to customize your workspace, look for a simple homemade plant. Household plants are good for the environment because they remove quantities of pollutants in the air.
- When you wash, use only eco-friendly products (friendly) in your home. It’s best for you and the environment! And did we already mention tho plant a tree!
If you are aware, there is a semi-subliminal message in these boards … Plant a tree!.
And this is a sign that twitter can help. It is very laudable initiative of twitter for trees, where, for every new follower, they plant a tree. Up to now go further 10,376 trees .. and what do you expect to grow your own?.
Unfortunately, much of the pollution comes from big multinationals and governments ignore these initiatives with our bit, little by little, who knows, we could make a difference regardless of governments, national borders, cultural, and racial .
