amazon-kindle-logoToday had been a day of rumors, one more absurd than the other (did you hear that Apple is buying Twitter?). From all those gossips I stand out the news of a future Kindle with a 9,7 inches screen, published by Engadget and accompanied of by some photos, blurry ones, but photos at the end.

This new Kindle DX, besides counting with a newspaper-friendly screen, will include a PDFs reader and the chance to add our notes. It seems like, some selected students from at least five colleges, would have received a machine with some pre-installed texts. The device could be presented tomorrow Wednesday in the press conference that Amazon will offer in the Pace University of Manhattan.

A few days ago I commented that the newspapers urgently need a light version of  Kindle, a cheaper one and more focused to the tabloid format than the e-books, that seems to be the case of Kindle DX.

With a Kindle with a more affordable price -or subsidy- people will pay for a suscription in a local newspaper? I’m sure they will, mostly if the file is portable and can be read from my cellphone. We will have to wait until tomorrow to know what Amazon is preparing for us.
